Gabriella Sarate
Hello My Dear Sisters!
My name is Gabriella. My journey to becoming a doula, I now realize, has been a lifetime in the making. When I was a young girl, my sister and I would pretend to care for each other as if we were giving birth, playing what we called ‘House.’ Something so silly and young, grew into a love and a passion.
I knew I was called to care for others from a very young age. I became an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) at 18 years old and worked as a first responder and in hospital care, in various positions. Over a span of 10 years, I responded to and witnessed multiple births. Every birth is unique and its own experience. My passion for birth grew!
I knew I wanted to help and support moms more, but I did not know yet how that would play out.
Fast forward to after having my first born. This was when I chose to become a birthing doula. I took the Doula course with Penny Bussell Stansfield of Doulas of North America (DONA) International in 2021. I learned so much during this course and gained many skills beyond physical support. I started seeking out how I could serve women more and be available for my community.
Shortly thereafter I was introduced to New Life Birth Services. I knew I wanted to work with other women who had the same passion for serving women in our community. I am completely honored that my journey has brought me to work alongside and meet all of you wonderful, strong, amazing, overcoming women! I look forward to meeting and serving all the Mamas I have not yet met.
