Placenta Encapsulation Terms & Conditions
By purchasing any New Life Birth Services Placenta Encapsulation Services you, the client, acknowledge and agree to the following:
If I am not already a birth doula client of New Life Birth Services, LLC (NLBS), I will arrange for someone to CALL New Life Birth Services at 505-375-4433, Extension 4, immediately following my birth to inform the NLBS team that my placenta is available.
I understand that NLBS follows these guidelines with regards to the timing of my placenta pick up, which is based on location of birth. If I am giving birth at one of the following locations, I agree to follow these guidelines listed below:
Dar a Luz Birth & Health Center
After birth, ask your midwife and/or nurse to place the placenta in the lab refrigerator, and a placenta encapsulation specialist will pick it up as soon as possible during the hours of 6am-10pm.
University of New Mexico Hospital
Immediately following your birth, ask your healthcare providers to place the placenta, in its container, on ice. Your placenta encapsulation specialist will be there within 1-2 hours to pick up your placenta.
Presbyterian Hospitals (Downtown and Rust Medical Center)
Immediately following your birth, ask your healthcare providers to place the placenta, in its container, on ice. Your placenta encapsulation specialist will be there within 1-2 hours to pick up your placenta.
Lovelace Hospitals (Women’s Hospital and West Side Hospital)
After birth, ask your healthcare provider(s) to place the placenta in the designated refrigerator, and a placenta encapsulation specialist will pick it up as soon as possible during the hours of 6am-10pm.
Home Birth
After birth, ask your healthcare provider(s) to place the placenta in a refrigerator, and a placenta encapsulation specialist will pick it up as soon as possible during the hours of 6am-10pm.
Established clients will allow their birth doula to take the placenta upon her departure from the birth.
I will inform my provider(s) that we will choose to keep our placenta, and send it with a New Life Birth Services staff member.
All clients understand placenta is taken from the birthplace with the sole purpose of placental preparation.
I understand that New Life Birth Services, LLC utilizes a 100% sanitized environment to process my placenta.
I understand that my placenta capsules are to be stored in a cool, dark place at all times, away from excess moisture. When properly sealed and frozen, the capsules should last 1-2 years.
If my placenta is declared to not be fit for my consumption (due to improper storage, infection, or any other medical condition) the medical staff at my birth place may not allow me or New Life Birth Services to take the placenta, and/or the NLBS Placenta Encapsulation Specialist may refuse to process my placenta. In the case of any of these scenarios, I have two options: 1) the fee, before tax, will be credited to my New Life account where I can receive other services from New Life Birth Services of equal or lesser value, or 2) a partial refund will be issued. I acknowledge that by booking in advance, I waive my right to a 100% refund should my placenta be declared to be unfit for encapsulation. I realize it is my responsibility to inform New Life Birth Services of which option I choose.
I understand that the act of ingesting placenta in any form has not been tested, nor approved, by the FDA. Furthermore, I release New Life Birth Services, LLC, and the Association of Placental Preparation Arts, and either of the organizations’ representatives from any liability associated with this process. I understand that the Traditional Method does, and the Raw Start Method does not, comply with USDA Food Safety Standards.
NLBS make no guarantees about capsule efficacy, but we do guarantee the highest quality of service.
I understand that if I require delivery outside of Albuquerque, that travel fees will be required for my placenta to be pick up and/or my products to be delivered to me.
